We are pleased to announce that IDC Models has recently invested in two new machines; a Harrison Alpha 1350S CNC Lathe and a Hurco VM10 CNC Vertical Machining Centre. These new additions are part of an internal strategy, to achieve accreditation for the medical quality standard ISO 13485. The new precision milling and turning capability, allows IDC to take full internal control of all tolerance critical machined parts.
The new machines also extend our ability to offer precision batch production of machined parts and it is anticipated that this capability will open up new markets for us, in areas such as fluidics and low volume, high value medical device production.
As well as investing in new high quality equipment, IDC Models is also strengthening our workforce by hiring Senior Production Engineer, Ian Parker.
For the last 11 years Ian has worked in Design Engineering, applying CAD and manufacturing skills to design & manufacture, proof of principle & test rigs, prototypes and product models. In his new role, Ian’s main functions are to help manage IDC’s expanding CNC machining capability, undertake development CAD, help to develop systems and best practices in support of ISO 9001 implementation, and assist with the day to day running of IDC Models.
